CHA week with WRMK - Day 4

Hello!

Today's the last day of the CHA show so I'm here sharing one more card using Washi Sheets and the....wait for it....wait for it....Hip, Hip Hooray collection!

Here's my card:

Yep, pretty similar to yesterday's card but why mess with a good design, right?  I love those little embossed balloons and they were just calling for some twine, so I obliged.

Oh, and lest you think you're done seeing Hip, Hip Hooray cards, you're not thank goodness!  I'll be back later in the year with more projects using this really fun, happy collection.

Did you catch that?  Yes, later in the year.  The only bad thing about this collection is it won't be available to purchase until December. :(  But anticipation is a big part of the fun, is it not?

Thanks for letting me share this fun collection and the great washi products this week.

Thanks for joining me at the Table today!

SUPPLIES:

All supplies from WRMK

Patterned paper, embosssed stickers, card stock from the Hip, Hip, Hooray collection

CHA week with WRMK - Day 3

Hello again!

Nothin' like an assignment to give a girl a reason to blog every day, right?

But thank heavens for scheduled posts because today is a Utah holiday (Pioneer Day) and more importantly, to our family, is that we are off taking our only daughter to the Missionary Training Center.  In two weeks, she will be heading to Canada to be a missionary for our church for 18 months.  We will miss her LIKE CRAZY (and I may or may not cry a lot the first few weeks that she's gone) but we are so excited for her adventure!

It's Day 3 at the CHA show and today I'm featuring the Washi Sheets from WRMK.  Here's my card:

The awesome thing about washi sheets is you can use them in your manual and electric die cutting machines and make any dang shape you want!  I loved the candle paper but knew it was a little too busy to add much on top so I cut the bracket shape from the green washi sheet with my Big Shot.  This was the perfect background for the embossed present stickers and fun greeting strip I trimmed from the Hip, Hip Hooray patterned paper (and yes, in case you haven't already guessed yet, I was assigned to work with the Hip, Hip Hooray collection).

I love washi tape in any size!  Did you see what's happening on the WRMK blog today?

Thanks for joining me at the Table today!

CHA week with WRMK - Day 2

Hello!

Day 2 finds me playing with more Chevron washi tape.  This time I decided to add a strip of the Tomato washi in with the Marigold strips.  Hmmm, I'm seeing a gardening pattern going on here...
Anyway, here's the card:

I punched a few circles out of the Hip, Hip Hooray patterned papers, adhered them to my card like confetti, then topped them off with some Crystal Effects to make them look a little like shiny confetti.  And then a simple sentiment with that fun chipboard.

Don't forget to check out the We R blog this week!

Thanks for joining me at the Table today!

CHA week with We R Memory Keepers

Hello!

Welcome to CHA week! Today through Thursday, I'll share a card with you that uses new We R product.

AND, check in at the We R Memory Keeper's blog all week for CHA sneak peeks and great giveaways!  They are coming out with new tools that I am dying to get my hands on!

Okay, so first up, is this card:

See that yellow chevron right up there?  That's washi tape and no I didn't have to cut it.  It comes that way.  Isn't that so fun?  We R is coming out with 10 colors of this fun tape.  On my card here, I layered it to give a bit more dimension.  This tape will be available at your local scrapbook store in August.

I'm so into simple and quick cards lately and this cute card definitely fits that bill!

Don't forget to visit We R's blog every day this week for a chance at some fun prizes!

Oh, Hello!

Hello!

I've been playing with some Stampin' Up! goodies.  We got to watch a demonstration of this card at the Regional Event I went to back in early Spring.  I loved it so much that today, I decided to try my hand at this design and made two different color versions of it.  We're going to do the pink version for my friend's workshop next month:

I love cards with layers but I also really like to make one-layer cards as well.  They're quick and very mailable.  And isn't it great how you can change the feel of the exact same card just by using different color combinations?  Oh, I really need to use my Stampin' Up! stuff more.  Especially since I'm a Demonstrator!!  And, really, SU! is my first love.  It's been in my blood for over 15 years.  I just get so giddy when I see their catalogs, and products, and colors, and....

Just love it all.

And I LOVE this Oh, Hello stamp set.  I hope it doesn't go away any time soon.

Thanks for joining me at the Table today!

Combining different collections to create one layout

Hello!

I've had this photo for, oh, about 16 years that I've wanted to scrap.  I've told the story to my daughter many times, and I thought it was about time I actually put it down on paper for her kids to read someday.  Here's the finished layout:

Honestly, though, it wasn't until I saw the star background paper from the Country Livin' collection by We R Memory Keepers that the desire really started to beckon to me.  I seriously love that sky blue color and the cream stars.  So dreamy.  And you would never know that the other colors in the collection are more bold and have a State Fair/Farm type of feel.  Just goes to show you how versatile patterned papers within a collection can be!

Stars and sleeping go hand in hand and as I thought in my head about a color scheme, pink, yellow, gold and white kept coming to mind.

I used the yellow (punched with one of the Tab Punches also by We R) from one of the other Country Livin' papers and then added a second collection with the pink.  The pink comes from the Simply Spring collection.  I love how the pink and blue help to tone down the bright yellow patterned paper.

I used the Simply Stars stamp set from Stampin' Up! to add gold accents to the background.  The pink glitter chipboard letters are also from the Simply Spring collection from We R Memory Keepers.

Then I just used other stamps and embellishments I had in my stash to add to that dreamy feel.

Here's a close-up of one of the embellishment clusters:

The butterfly is also from the Simply Spring collection

I love, love how this layout came together.  It really conveys the feeling I was going for.  I also love how you can combine two totally different collections to make a single layout!

Thanks for joining me at the Table today!

An Old-Fashioned BBQ...

Hello, hello!

My, but it's been a long time since I've checked in here, hasn't it?

I've been up to my eyeballs in wonderful family activities the last month and a half.  My son got married at the beginning of June, then we took a trip, just Superman and me, and then we took the family on a two-day fishing trip.  Our daughter-in-law has never been fishing before so it was fun to share one of our favorite things with her.  And the good news is she had a great time!  It didn't hurt that the fish were hungry and angling (har har) to get in the boat. ;p

So needless to say, I haven't been doing much crafting at the Kitchen Table lately.  That is until yesterday.

I had a couple of We R Memory Keepers' assignments that needed to be finished for CHA, so after I completed those, I was still in the crafting mood and made a cute little BBQ invite:

The "Picnic Table" paper and the "Sunday Dress" paper from the Country Livin' collection by We R just made me want to take a big ol' bite of BBQ chicken and potato salad!  I also backed a piece of yellow chevron We R washi tape with white cardstock and added that to my banner grouping.  To top that all off, I used the chipboard letters that go with the Country Livin' collection.  I think it turned out really cute!

Then at the last minute, I decided to add some twine from Stampin' Up!  It kinda reminded me of a gunny sack, which definitely fits in with the old-fashioned picnic theme, right? :)

Makes me really want to have a BBQ soon.....or at least make some of my mother-in-law's fabulous potato salad. Mmmmmm.

Thanks for joining me at the Table today!

P.S. Don't forget to check in over at the We R blog to see what else is cookin'!
